Questions about using the app, features, subscriptions, or anything that isn't a bug.
Something crashing, a notification failing to arrive, a calendar day rendering wrong. Include steps to reproduce if you can.
Access, correction, deletion, or portability requests under EU, UK, California, or Turkish privacy law.
One parent creates a family and gets a 6-digit invite code plus a shareable link. The other parent signs up, taps Join a family, and enters the code — or opens the link on their phone. Invitations expire after 7 days and can be regenerated from Settings → Family → Invite. Each user can belong to only one family at a time, and a family is capped at two parents.
Yes. You can create a family, add your child profiles, and set up your custody pattern as a solo user. When the other parent joins, they inherit the shared family document immediately. Nothing is lost. Some features (like message read receipts) only start being useful once the second parent joins.
Permanence is a feature, not a bug. Messages, expenses, and swap-request history are intentionally immutable — enforced at the database level, not just in the UI. This keeps the record consistent between the two parents and meaningful if documentation is ever needed in a legal or mediation context.
Full details in Section 5 of our Terms of Use.
In the calendar, long-press a day currently assigned to the other parent and tap Request swap. Optionally add a reason. The other parent gets a push notification and can approve or reject. On approval, the calendar updates automatically. The request, response, and timestamps are preserved in the swap-request history — which cannot be deleted.
When you add an expense, pick a split rule:
TwoNest keeps a running balance for the family and shows it on the home dashboard. A monthly summary view breaks spending down by category with a chart; Premium users can export it as PDF.
The receipt threshold is the amount above which a receipt photo is required to save an expense. It defaults to 100 in your selected currency and you can adjust it in Settings → Expenses → Receipt threshold. Each parent sets it independently because your expectations for "big enough to need proof" are personal. Expenses with a receipt show a verified badge; those without show an "unverified" label.
No. Your personal settings — default currency, receipt threshold, notification toggles, language, theme — are stored under your own user document, not the shared family document. Each parent tunes the app to their own workflow.
TwoNest is a record-keeping tool, not a legal service. We do not certify admissibility. However, the record is designed to be trustworthy: every entry is time-stamped, attributed to the author, and cannot be edited or deleted once created — enforced in the database. Whether a specific PDF export is admitted in a particular court is a decision for your attorney and judge. See Section 6 of our Terms of Use for the full disclaimer.
TwoNest is available on iOS and Android, worldwide through the App Store and Google Play. The UI is localized in English, Türkçe (Turkish), and Deutsch (German). Currency formatting follows the currency you pick per expense. If you'd like to see another UI language added, email [email protected].
Subscriptions are managed by the App Store or Google Play, not by Monsware.
Cancelling stops auto-renewal; you keep Premium for your family until the end of the paid period. We cannot cancel on your behalf.
First, try Restore Purchases in Settings → Subscription. That usually fixes it within seconds. If not, email [email protected] with:
For refunds of store-processed payments, contact Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google (Google Play refund request) — they process the money.
No. If one parent deletes their account, they leave the family but the shared record remains available to the other parent. Only when both parents have deleted their accounts is the family document scheduled for deletion 30 days later.
No. Premium unlocks features at the family level. Whichever parent buys Premium unlocks PDF export, unlimited history, expense tracking, and calendar sync for the family document, which means both parents see the upgraded experience. We do not double-bill.
We love hearing this. Send suggestions to [email protected] — please include the problem it would solve for you, not just the feature itself.
The fastest path is in-app: Settings → Account → Delete Account. That removes you from the family and (if the other parent is also deleted) schedules the shared record for deletion 30 days later. For analytics opt-in history, subscription receipts, or support emails we hold, email [email protected] from the address tied to your inquiry; we'll verify your identity and respond within 30 days.
